The most treated flowers, the most loved flowers, and the most treented trees all have a story to tell, said the florists association.
The association was pleased to announce that the group of more than 30 members will present the first annual Flower of Flowers conference in London, with a focus on how they’ve shaped the flower world in the last 20 years.
The conference will take place on March 20-22 at the Royal Horticultural Society.
The conference is co-sponsored by the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the British Association for Botanical Photography, the Society for Photography of Flowers and the Royal Floral Society of Great Britain.
The main theme of the conference is “The Flower of Gardens.”
It will include talks by world-renowned florist and florista Ana de la Cruz and other luminaries of the art, and also a special event on the history of the flower.
“Flowers are really important to us and we’re really excited about the conference and we think it’s a really good chance to get to know the floras and get to hear their stories,” said David Sargent, vice-president of the Royal Flower Association.
The meeting will take places at the BTS, a landmark of the British tourist industry, on March 22 and 23.
Flower of Flowers, which will take the stage at the British Museum, will be held at the same time as the International Flower and Garden Exhibition.
The two events are the world’s biggest art fair, and a joint project of the Art Museum and the British Library.
The floristry industry is growing in the UK, where there are more than 50,000 licensed floriculture businesses.
A recent report by the British Floral Industry Association shows that there were over 8 million floral products sold in the United Kingdom in 2013.
