The NHL has announced that The Last Ones, the Canadian rock band formed by former members of Nirvana and Metallica, will play in the 2018 NHL All Star Game.
The Lastones, who are set to play at Consol Energy Center in Buffalo, N.Y., are also performing at the 2018 Winter Classic in Chicago.
“The Last Things’ return to the NHL AllStar Game is a natural next step in our ongoing relationship with the league,” said NHL Vice President and Chief Content Officer Mike Zalewski.
“It’s an exciting time for hockey fans around the world to celebrate the best teams in the world.
We look forward to seeing The Last Things perform in front of fans in Buffalo at the NHL’s 2018 All-Stars Game.”
The Last Guys are the latest Canadian band to announce a return to hockey, joining Canadian act the Beach Boys and American act Arcade Fire.
They played the 2017 All-Canadian Classic in Montreal.
“We’re very excited to be back in the NHL,” said frontman Dan Dymond.
“I think the players have been great to work with.
It’s an honor to be part of the All-star Game again and it feels great to be in a hockey city.”
The Final Four All-American team will be announced later this month.
